1. Emergency and Crisis Disclaimer

Mountain Care Psychology and this website are not crisis or emergency services.

The content provided on this website is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are experiencing an immediate mental health crisis, or are concerned about your safety or the safety of someone else, please call emergency services on 000 or attend your nearest hospital Emergency Department if safe to do so.

If it is not an immediate emergency, you may consider attending a community-led Safe Space if there is one available in your primary health network area. Roses in the Ocean currently offer an interactive map of Safe Space locations.

A variety of helplines and other services are also available:

Lifeline also offer BeyondNow, an online resource to help people who experience suicidality (but are not currently in an emergency) to construct a Safety Plan.

3. Professional Relationship

Your use of this website, including reading blog posts, downloading resources, or sending us an email at the contact addresses provided on this site, does not create a professional psychologist-client relationship between you and Mountain Care Psychology or Dr Ann Martin. A formal psychologist-client relationship is only established once you have completed our intake process, signed our formal Service Agreement, attended an initial consultation, and an agreement for the provision of psychological services is made.

4. Email Communication

As a small business without full time administrative support, email is our preferred form of communication regarding booking enquiries and appointments.

However, if you choose to contact us via the email address listed on this website, please note:

• Privacy risks: While we take reasonable steps to secure our digital environment, standard email is not a secure method of communication. Please do not send sensitive personal or clinical information via general email. If you provide your contact details, we will reach out to discuss intake processes. This may include an initial intake telephone call, and various online forms which are completed via our secure client administration system (Zanda Health).

• No immediate response: Our email inbox is not continuously monitored. Do not use email to request urgent clinical help or crisis intervention.

• Spam and abuse: You must not use our email addresses to send unsolicited commercial electronic messages (spam), defamatory material, or malicious software.

5. Intellectual Property/ Copyright

Unless otherwise stated, all materials on this website – including text, images, graphics, logos, layouts, blogs, and downloadable resources – are owned or licensed to Mountain Care Psychology and are protected by Australian copyright laws.

You may view pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, modify, or create derivative work from any content from this site for commercial purposes without our express written consent.

For the purposes of Schedule 2 of the Australian Consumer Law, in particular Sections 51 to 53, 64 and 64A of Part 3-2, Division 1, Subdivision A of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), Mountain Care Psychology’s liability for any breach of a term of this agreement is limited to: the supplying of the goods or services to you again; the replacement of the goods; or the payment of the cost of having the goods or services supplied to you again.
